Intro to permaculture at Merryspring
Camden — Just what is permaculture? Jesse Watson will answer this and more questions during an introduction to permaculture lecture at Merryspring Nature Center Tuesday, July 8, at noon.
Through designing gardens and other structures to work with the surrounding natural environment, Watson will discuss how the principles of permaculture design attempt to answer the questions of how to heal ecosystems, grow food, and adapt to a changing environment and climate. A focus of the lecture will be placed on self-sufficient and sustainable practices for garden, building, and landscape design.
Watson is a certified permaculture designer. In 2009 he started Midcoast Permaculture, a landscape design/build and sustainability consultation firm serving residential, business and institutional clients. He lives with his young family in Rockland.
This talk is part of the Summer lecture series at Merryspring, co-sponsored by Jaret & Cohn Real Estate and Camden National Bank.
Admission to Tuesday talks is free for Merryspring members, with a $5 fee for non-members.
