Informal afternoon with Gribin
Rockland — Jonathan Frost Gallery, 21 Winter St., will host an informal reception for painter Liz Gribin Sunday, July 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served during this opportunity to meet the gallery artist and see some of her work.
Born in London, England, Gribin fled with her family to the United States as World War II broke out. She earned a fine arts degree from Boston University, where she studied with David Aronson. For most of her career, she lived and worked in New York, though she is currently based near Boston. She has won numerous prizes in her 30-plus years of exhibiting nationally , and her work is in many important private and corporate collections here and abroad. Gribin said the human figure is the theme of her art, which is classical in spirit, but handled in contemporary terms.
