Image to prose in museum workshop

Sep 26, 2012

Rockland — Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 11, the Farnsworth Art Museum will present a writing workshop titled The Re-imagined Place: Image to Prose. The workshop will run consecutive Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon through Nov. 15 at the Farnsworth’s Gamble Education Center, corner of Union and Grace streets.

Led by writing coach, ghost blogger and author Lee Heffner, this class will use as inspiration the Farnsworth’s exhibitions to spur re-imaginings of artworks into prose. Students will view a select work each week, write for 45 minutes and share with the class for constructive feedback. The final week, each student will choose his or her personal favorite to revise and present to the group. The workshop will seek to inspire participants to understand and incorporate place as a vibrant component of their work.

Workshop fee is $120, $96 for Farnsworth members. For more information or to register, call the education department at 596-0949 or visit farnsworthmuseum.org/education.
