‘I’m Gonna Kill Him’ on Camden stage
Camden — In an unlikely confluence of Carrie Fisher, David Sedaris and Louis C.K., Erin Donovan is bringing her award-winning blog stories to life on stage. Next stop in her live performance career will be Saturday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Camden Opera House, Elm Street/Route 1.
The “I'm Gonna Kill Him” comedy show is a 90-minute multimedia production featuring the funniest of Donovan's work. Culling material from her days in New York City and her Match.com marriage to her abrupt and shocking transplant to Maine, Donovan finds humor in just about every aspect of middle-aged life — from having sex after children to living in sweatpants.
Donovan is the creator of the “I'm Gonna Kill Him” blog, video series and comedy show. She writes a column for The Bangor Daily News and regularly is featured around the Web at sites such as Errant Parent, Aiming Low, Scary Mommy, The Mouthy Housewives and BaristaNet … and sometimes in print beyond Maine in “rags” such as The New York Times. Her blog was nominated by Nickelodeon for Best New Blog in 2010. Most recently, Donovan was named by BlogHer as a 2012 Voice of the Year and won its People's Choice award in Humor. In addition, the editors from She Knows named her blog a 2012 funniest blog. Donovan currently is working on a pilot for Nickelodeon.
Tickets are $15, available at HAV II or online at camdenoperahouse.com. Those who bring their tickets to Fromviandoux the night of show will get 15 percent off their bills and a special I'm Gonna Kill Him cocktail.
