HURRICANE SANDY/STORM ATHENA FOOD DRIVE
Chris Merritt with Schooner Bay Taxi has two vans parked in the parking lot of the old Cayouette Flooring store at 210 Park Street in Rockland. They are accepting bottle water and can goods to fill these two vans that will leave tomorrow night and go to New York and New Jersey.
It just takes a minute to drop off items and the guys will help! We are very blessed here in Maine. Chris Merritt told me that he, his wife and some friends are driving down tomorrow night and meeting someone in New York. they will be bringing back 15 people and dropping them off in Ogunquit, where a hotel is putting up victims of Hurricane Sandy and Storm Athena. In about a week, Chris said that he will make the trip again to take the 15 people back. He told me that some folks have been told that they can finally go to their houses (after Hurricane Sandy) and bring two suitcases with them and they have four hours. Please, PAY IT FORWARD. Every little bit will help these people as some of them have nothing! LET'S PACK THOSE VANS, MIDCOAST!!!!!!!!!!!!
The FILL THE VANS drive is going on TODAY, Friday, November 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
