It's that magical day of the week where things start looking up as we head to the weekend. Wednesday nights at the Lincoln Street Center from 7-10 pm is the Hump Day Open Mic.

Tonight we have Stan Davis as our feature act. Stan is half of Hurry Down Sunshine who has a solo CD coming out this fall. Stan plays guitar, autoharp and vocals along with some wonderful storytelling.

We also have Rockland's Poet Laureate Carol Willette Bachofner who will read for her newest collection.

Raised by Wolves will be performing as well, this three piece band featuring Blind Albert (guitar, vocals), Terry La Mar (percussion, vocals) and Lynne Frey (bass, vocals) will do some originals and covers. This is one of the hottest new bands around so put on your dancing shoes as there is a large one waiting to be used.

That is just three of the performers that will be on stage tonight, John Coleman, a local talented guitar player and vocalist will be there to entertain, as well as a host of others.

The most amazing part of all this is WRFR radio and Maine Coast TV Channel 7 will both be recording and broadcasting the show tonight. Where else do you get that kind of exposure at an open mic.

Performers please sign up to perform at 6:30 pm. Musicians, Poets, Storytellers, comedians, actors, dancers you are all welcome, open mic is not just about music at the LSC, it is about performing arts, so come perform and show the crowd what you have to offer.
