Active Aging Week 2013 begins on September 22, and you won’t find a better place to celebrate it than Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta. As you will discover, life is a fantastic journey. It is full of twists and turns, ups and downs and plenty of lessons learned. It takes us on a ride that most say is much too short. "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain
Older adults, their caregivers and friends are invited to discover new places and people during Active Aging Week®, Sunday, September 22 through Saturday, September 28. AAW is organized by the International Council on Active Aging®. This is an international observance to highlight the diverse opportunities available to older adults in a fun and educational atmosphere. Join us at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center and in the community for one or more of the free AAW events listed below. Advanced Registration Required. Call 563-1363 twenty four hours before the program or activity is scheduled to begin. Because volunteer’s time is valuable to them and us, events are subject to cancelation due to lack of interest on behalf of community members.
