Congratulations to Ben Craft
Ben came home with the fifth-place trophy in all-around gymnastics from his regional gymnastics meet on Sunday in Rhode Island. He placed fifth among at least 20 other gymnasts from across New England. Nice job, Ben!
Family Lunch Day
Thursday, March 21, is family lunch day at the Hope school. Please call the office before Wednesday, March 20, if you plan to have school lunch otherwise come on in and enjoy a lunchtime visit. Kindergarten through grade 4 lunch begins at 11:15 a.m. and fifth- through eighth-grade begins at 11:40 a.m.
Penobscot Bay YMCA presents The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia with Dr. Candice Bray and Dr. Cecillia Kinast. This is a great chance to view this award winning film with a follow up discussion with experts in reading and learning disabilities. This film provides personal and uplifting accounts of the dyslexic experience from children. This will take place at the Teen Center on March 20 at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 236-3375. There is no charge.
The Hope, Appleton, and Lincolnville Busline League Baseball team is getting ready to begin the season. Boys interested in playing should sign up in the office. Pitchers and catchers will have practices in the Hopy gym Monday, March 25; Wednesday, March 27, and Thursday, March 28, at 3:15 p.m. each day. All other players will begin practices at the Lincolnville gym on Monday, April 1 at 3:15 p.m. The parent meeting will occur after that first full practice, at 4:30 p.m. Hope players may ride the “Y” bus from here to Lincolnville for practices but will need to obtain and complete a permission slip from Mrs. Heal in the office.
Track and Field
Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 who are interest in participating in track and field with Camden Rockport Middle School this spring should sign up in the office.
Snow Bowl Presents
Calling all skiers, snowboarders, non-skiers, outdoor enthusiasts, cardboard box racers, and those who simply love the idea of gooey s'mores eaten around a roaring fire — this is your invitation to attend a family friendly, fun-filled day, Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Camden Snow Bowl: a cardboard box race – registration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. is required prior to the event, helmets also required.
Donations Requested for eighth-grade auction
There will be a silent auction and dinner on Friday, March 15, to raise money for the Boston trip, graduation and a gift to the school. Spaghetti dinner and dessert served by the students. Tickets are now on sale in the office. We are in the process of asking local businesses and community contacts for donated items and services for the silent and live auction portions of the event please contact Mr. Davis, any eighth-grader or the office. As always, your support is appreciated.
Hope Community Lunch
Where were you all? There were only 11 people to the lunch today, with an excellent lunch of corn chowder, biscuits and salad bar. Plan to attend the one on April 4 as it will be the last one of the season.
