HES “Starry Night” Auction to benefit the eighth-grade
Come enjoy a night out with dinner and lots of great auction items Saturday, March 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school. Kids (5- to 12-year-olds) $5 and adults $7. Tickets will be available in the office and at the door. The auction proceeds will support the eighth-grade class trip to Quebec. We would like to thank the Hope School PTO for funding several recent school field trips. The sixth-grade class made a trip to Hope Elephants for science and the fourth-grade class made a trip to the State House in Augusta. We appreciate the many dedicated volunteers who make these opportunities available to our students!
April fun from Partners for Enrichment
PFE is delighted to announce that Nancy Tyndall will be bringing her wonderful Milkweed Puppet Theater to HES’s kindergarten, first- and second-grades Thursday April 3, Tuesday, April 8, and Thursday, April 10. During these workshops, students will make their own puppets and put on a puppet show. The workshops are made possible by Partners for Enrichment, an all-volunteer nonprofit providing arts and science enrichment to the kindergarten through eighth-grade schools of Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville.

HES PTO is sponsoring After-School Skating at MRC
Who: first- through eighth-graders. Kindergarteners may attend but only if accompanied by a parent. Parents must pay the $7 fee (includes skate rentals).
When & Where: March 17, 24 and 31 at MRC in Rockport.
Time: After school (bus will leave from Hope School). You may pick up your child at MRC at 4:45 p.m. or Hope Elementary School promptly at 5:15 p.m.

Penobscot Bay YMCA Learn To Swim
Hello everyone! It’s that time again! This April vacation the Penobscot Bay YMCA will offer its free annual learn to swim program to children in Knox County (and Lincolnville). This year we are gearing up for teaching nearly 200 kids! If you need any more information on this event please contact Aquatics Director Ben St. Cyr or Sam Grinnell at 236-375 ext. 222.
Kinetic Energy ALIVE: Power Performance
Coming to the Strom Auditorium in Camden on April 4 and 5. Starting with fun videos about old school hip hop and great dances by kids, moving into gritty dances by adults addressing real life issues like our economy and making a living for our families, the first act is a ton of fun and definitely opens your mind. Several Hope students are in the show! Tickets are available in the school office for $15.
