Sympathy is extended to the family of Roger and Juanita Hunt and family in the death of Roger's brother-in-law Russell Grant, who passed last week.

Blue birds have been in the area of Buzzell Hill last week. They sure are early.

I am back

I have had the help of my niece Teresa Johnson to write this column for the past year after I had my stoke. This will be the first one I have written by myself. I want to thank my niece very much for helping me. Continue to email news to her as she will have to be the one to collect the news by email as I do not have that system. Or if you have news, you can call me at 236-1085.

The following is for people who do not live in the Camden area or even in the state of Mane. We are having winter and I mean winter. During Christmas in the farm area in Hope, the electricity was off for 36 hours. We had several snow storms, one got 12 or more inches of snow, next one was 10 inches of snow and the last one which was Dec. 26, we got more than 2 inches of snow. Now, you are saying, 2 inches is not much, right, but it stuck to the ice on the trees so now if it melts, won't it knock some of the trees down. You will know by the time you read this. In the Hope area, the trees were covered with ice and I mean covered. Looked like something you would see on greeting cards or a calender. And the thing is, it is only the last of December, not the last of January. Next the temperature has been so low so it made it cold and I mean cold. Today, Thursday, Dec. 27, the eves are dripping. So it has warmed up. For a number of days it was below zero.

Ladies Club

The Hope Ladies Club will meet Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Hope Fire Station. (We can meet there even if the ambulances are there). Starting at 10 a.m. everyone will be playing Beano, prizes will be furnished. Lunch next, everyone to bring their own sandwich. Dessert and beverage will be furnished. Please bring items for the silent auction. Business meeting to follow. If you have any questions call me at 236-1085, if I do not answer leave me a message.
