We express our sympathy to the family of Maynard Knight on their recent loss. Maynard was a member of the Camden Class of 1938 — with his passing there are only two surviving members of the class (William Pearse and Kay Donaldson)
The first Senior Lunch at the elementary school will be Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. It will cost $4 and include: roast turkey, mashed potato, steamed peas, salad bar (featuring cranberry sauce) and milk, coffee or tea.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, Nov 12, at Hope Fire Station at 10 a.m. It will be the birthday party — everyone is to bring at least $0.25 worth of nickels and pot luck lunch — dessert will be provided (birthday cake and ice cream, of course). Halloween with Hope Elephants
Come trick-or-treat with Rosie and Opal from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at Hope Elephants, located on Hatchet Mountain Road. Watch Opal perform some pumpkin squashing at 5 p.m.
Class of 1960
The class will hold their next luncheon Nov. 8 at noon at The Offshore Restaurant. People with questions should call either Juanita at 785-4316 or Margaret, 763-3344.
Election Day is Nov. 5 and the polls will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you cannot make it into the town office on Election Day, please remember you can vote by absentee ballot. The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is close of business Oct. 31. The absentee ballots must be returned to the town office by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
The state ballot is a general referendum. There will also be a municipal ballot to validate the supplemental schools budget. You may view the sample town and state ballots on the town’s website (hopemaine.org) or at Hope General Store, Pushaw’s Trading Post, Hope Elementary School and Hope Town Office. Hope Historical Society will have a food sale on Election Day at the town office.
Story time for Preschoolers

Camden Hills Regional High School presents

The Harlem Rockets
Harlem Rockets, a professional comedy basketball team is playing at Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro for a family comedy event Friday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m. This fun show will kick off the basketball season, which begins the following Monday. The game will pit The Coastal Dream Team, which is made up of 20 local volunteers against the world famous Harlem Rockets.
The basketball game has been organized to raise funds for the nonprofit Go! Malawi directed by locals in the area and founded by Union native Janet Littlefield. In addition a portion of the funds will go to the Coastal Navigators Special Olympic Team.
The Rockets will visit some of the local schools Friday, Nov. 15, and showing off their talents with a powerful message in their unique anti-bullying presentation. Go! Malawi will also have a raffle and some African carvings will be awarded to lucky participants. Advance tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets at the door are also available for $10 and $12. You can buy tickets ahead at Lincoln's Country Store, Warren Community School, Video Plus, Moody’s Diner, Medomak Valley High School, Mic Mac Market, Medomak River Trading Post, Hav II, Oceanside East High School and Friendship Village School.
