The next meeting will be Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at the Historical House in Hope. There will be refreshments and a program including three former students from the South Hope School talking about the history of the school.
The Craft Fair will take place in the Hope school gym Oct. 19. If you wish to rent a table, please contact Wendy Eaton at 785-5770.
Class of 1960
The next meeting will be Friday, Sept. 13, at Offshore Restaurant at noon. Those with questions should contact Margaret at 763-3344 or Juanita at 785-4316.
The Hatchet Mountain SnoRiders will start meeting soon. The first meeting will be Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. at Hope Corner Fire Station for the annual hot dog roast. Pass the word to any club member and land owner. The club will supply the hot dogs and drinks. Please bring a salad or dessert to share. Also all raffle tickets must b turned in at this meeting. If you need some more tickets to sell please call Nancy at 763-4118 or 542-2693, they need to sell more tickets.
School has started
Please be on the lookout for stopped school buses throughout the day and afternoon.
Class of 1958
The reunion will be Sept. 7 at Mic Mac Cove in Union starting at noon for social hour, lunch to follow at 1 p.m. and photos at 2:30 (be sure to be there for the group photo). Artie Sprowl is bringing his airboat to provide rides and a gentleman from Union will be catering the event. Please join us for a good time. If you have not returned phone calls or reservations to either Brenda (236-8459) or George Winslow (763-3343) please call as soon as possible.
The Ladies Club first meeting of the season will be Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Ayre Park in Union (a picnic) everyone should bring their own lunch and drink (a chair if you wish) and a dessert to share. The event will start at 10 a.m. Also please bring the items for the raffle for the basket for the fire department (or you can leave the items on Juanita Hunt’s doorstep – please note the change of person). A short business meeting will be held following lunch, during the business meeting volunteers will be signed up to sell raffle tickets on the quilt at the craft fair (Oct. 19 at the Hope school) – this will benefit our scholarship fund. At 2 p.m. Margaret, Nita and Ann will bring the quilts to Windward Gardens for exhibit (Ann will have the Historical Quilt) and Baxter Smith will also be exhibiting items he has turned from wood from the Pearse Farm. The next meeting will be Oct. 8 (date subject to change) to celebrate birthdays at Hope Corner Fire Station.
