HOPE ELEPHANTS TAKES DELIVERY OF THE WORLD’S FIRST INFLATABLEELEPHANT LIFT

By Hope Elephants | Oct 18, 2011

Hope Elephants is pleased to announce that it has taken delivery of the world’s first inflatable elephant lift designed and manufactured specifically for Hope Elephants by Matjack Inc. of Indianapolis, Indiana. Aging or injured elephants may have trouble getting up onto their feet once they lay down. Raising an elephants to its feet using previously existing technology could cause significant stress or even injury. Hope Elephants’ inflatable lift will provide a means of raising an elephant back to its feet with the least possible stress and discomfort. This is the first of what Hope Elephants expects will be a series of innovations in the care of aging elephants to be developed for the Hope Elephants facility. The construction of the Hope Elephants facility is progressing rapidly and will be completed within approximately one month. The first resident elephant, Rosie, is expected to arrive this fall. Hope Elephants is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to create a humane, state-of-the-art care and rehabilitation facility in Hope where injured and aging retired circus elephants will receive veterinary care unavailable elsewhere. At this facility Hope Elephants will offer visitors the opportunity to learn the importance of conservation and ecology through direct observation and study.
