Rockland — Hologram, a trio of middle school students from Appleton who played their first gig at Jan. 25th’s Trekkapalooza, took first prize in that annual battle of the bands. Hologram won the coveted moniker of Trekkers Bus Band as well as $250.

Hologram features Five Town CSD students Fiona Smith, who plays ukulele and flute; singer and guitarist Lexi Smith; and Ben Owre, who plays piano and trombone and sings.

Trekkapalooza benefits its namesake Trekkers, a nonprofit, outdoor-based mentoring program that connects caring adults with young people through expeditionary learning, community service and adventure-based education. For more information, visit trekkers.org.
