High Holiday services at Rockland synagogue
Rockland — Adas Yoshuron Synagogue will hold High Holiday services marking the beginning of the Jewish year 5774 with Rabbi David Freidenreich of Colby College officiating.
The Adas Yoshuron Choir, under the directorship of Dr. Dana Goldsmith, will be featured during the two evening services. Children's services will be held on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, and on Yom Kippur. All services are open to members and non-members alike, and are free of charge; donations are appreciated.
Services will be held on the following dates and times:
Rosh Hashanah Evening Service: Wednesday, Sept. 4, 6:45 p.m. Services will be led by Dana Goldsmith with the Adas Yoshuron choir. Potluck dessert reception to follow.
First Day Rosh Hashanah: Thursday, Sept. 5, 9 a.m. service. Children’s Service at 10:30 a.m.
Second Day Rosh Hashanah: Friday, Sept. 6, 9 a.m. Discussion-Oriented Service incorporating the poetry of Israeli poet Yehuda Amichai.
Kol Nidre Service: Friday, Sept. 13, 6:15 p.m. Services will be led by Dana Goldsmith with the Adas Yoshuron choir.
Yom Kippur Service: Saturday, Sept. 14, 9 a.m. Children’s Service at 10:30 a.m.
A Community Break-the-Fast will be held at the end of Yom Kippur, on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7:45 p.m. RSVP to reserve a place at the table. Please bring a non-meat dish to share. The meal is offered free of charge; donations will be accepted.
