Herbs for better bone health

Melanie Scofield will lead a talk on herbs for better bone health Tuesday, March 28 at Merryspring.

Camden — Herbalist Melanie Rose Scofield will lead a presentation on five essential herbs to grow for better bone health at Tuesday, March 28, at noon at Merryspring Nature Center.

As we age we begin to focus more on quality of our bones. Osteoporosis becomes a growing concern and we begin to seek natural ways to support ourselves. In this class Scofield will discuss how to grow, dry, and prepare five easy-to-grow plants for mineral rich infusions that support and nourish us bone deep.

Scofield is the founder and director of the Earthwalk School of Herbal Traditions in Rockport. She has been leading herbal apprenticeships for the past 10 years in Maine and in the Boston area.

This program is part of the Winter Talk series at Merryspring, sponsored by Allen Insurance & Financial. Tuesday talks are open to the public for $5, with free admittance granted for members of Merryspring.
