Harvest gathering set for Camden's Conway homestead
Camden — What do beans in a bag, leaf men and rag rugs have in common? They will all be at the Camden-Rockport Historical Society’s Harvest Gathering on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. where fun for the whole family will be found.
From a blacksmith working his forge, to rug hooking and rag rug-making demonstrations, from spinning to antique quilts, there will be much to do and see on the grounds of the historical society.
For the kids, crafts and games will be led by Miss Stefanie from the Camden library. Pumpkin painting, and candle dipping are among the activities while there will be a mountain of leaves to jump in.
Maynard’s chuck wagon beans will be available. For $9, one will get beans in a bag — enough for two people, plus all the fixings. The historic buildings of the Conway homestead will also be open.
The Historical Society is located on Route 1 next to the Hannaford shopping center at the Camden-Rockport town line. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. For more information, please call 236-2257 or e-mail crhs@conway house.org.
