Guini Ridge Farm, North Union Road in Union, will have an open house Saturday, April 19.

Union — Please join Guini Ridge Farm to welcome spring at an open house Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Learn what it takes to run a small family farm. Farm owners will have something to offer everyone in the family. Kids of all ages can come and meet the lambs born in February and have a picture taken with one. Learn how to take care of sheep to keep them healthy, including hoof trimming demonstrations. Sample Merguez sausage; its bold flavor is a hit with most who try it.

The farm will be open to explore and learn how to integrate the sheep and garden into the farm. The greenhouses will be open for visitors to see how they plant seedlings that will be transplanted when the weather warms. Kids can also plant a seedling of their own to take home and watch grow through the summer, harvest their own vegetables and share it with their family.

This year farm owners will also introduce “Grab and Go Bags." Each week the farm will offer a different bag that will contain a full meal or side dish, complete with the recipe and everything needed to prepare the dish.
