Guest evangelist to visit South Hope church
South Hope — Evangelist Kent R. Prain will be the featured speaker at South Hope Community Church Sept. 7-10.
Services will be held at the regular times on Sunday, and 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
In 1968 Dr. Prain was saved at the age of 16 in Belleville, Mich. He began to pursue electrical engineering at Eastern Michigan University but was called to preach during his freshman year. He graduated from Bob Jones University with a bachelor of arts in Bible in 1975, and went on to get his Master of Divinity degree from Bob Jones in 1980.
Prain was ordained at FaithWay Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, Mich. in 1975. He began his ministry of full-time evangelism in 1980. He is currently the staff evangelist at Fellowship Baptist Church in Taylors, S.C. under Pastor Bryce Hager.
Prain has ministered in many states, several Canadian provinces, and seven foreign countries. He received his Doctor of Divinity degree from Puerto Rico Baptist College in 2011.
Prain and Joann, his wife of 36 years, have six grown children, all of whom graduated from Bible college.
