Hello - We are Girl Scout Troop 1160,

During this holiday season, we are collecting stockings & toys and gifts for the "Bread for the Journey" food pantry in Warren as a community service project. This will be our second year doing this project for the community. Last year, we provided over 60 stockings for youth and adults, giving holiday cheer. This year, the need is even greater with over 120 individuals depending on the food bank for this holiday season.

Our Girl Scout Troop will be collecting donations of small gifts for children and adults, suitable to be placed in Christmas stockings. These will then be wrapped and placed in stockings and given to the food bank. The goal is to give one stocking for every individual being served at the pantry during the pantry's food distribution day on December 19th.

We appreciate any and all donations. Suitable gifts to consider are:
toiletries, mittens/gloves, chapstick, socks, small games, small stuffed animals/dolls, matchbox cars, art supplies, school supplies, candy, crossword puzzle/word search books, books, and gift cards.

The Troop has three collection boxes set up in our community - Warren Community School, Warren Baptist Church and the Second Congregational Church, with both churches located on Main Street. Donations will be gratefully accepted up until December 16th and then wrapped with care and delivered to the food pantry on December 17th by the Troop members.

For more information, please contact co-leaders Beverly Hays & Jess Gunn 273-4707 or Amanda Shelmerdine 273-4391 Thank you in advance for helping us make someone's Christmas merrier!
