Grant-funded program readies older workers for new jobs
Rockland — A Work Ready 55+ training program is slated to begin Monday, Nov. 26 at Mid-Coast School of Technology. Funded by Coastal Counties Workforce, Inc., this free course provides mature workers with essential skills for success in today's workplace. This is an opportunity for residents in the coastal counties to jump start their job search and to take positive steps toward a better job.
Designed to meet the specific needs of older workers, Work Ready 55+ covers computer basics, identifying personal challenges to employment, developing a personal employment plan, effective workplace communication, teamwork and problem solving, conflict resolution, resume and cover letter writing, and job interviewing strategies. Come learn more at the Work Ready 55+ information meeting held Monday at the Career Center in Rockland.
Advisors will be on-hand Monday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to answer questions and to complete registrations. Call 596-7752 with questions or to pre-register.
