Grant for Dragon Farm Salon series
St. George — Dragon Farm, an local educational nonprofit, recently received a $2,000 grant from the Saxifrage Opportunity Grants Fund of the Maine Community Foundation to support the costs of a larger meeting space for its Salon series.
“This grant will help Dragon Farm host more people at our educational Salon series,” said Maura Melley, the organization’s director. “The Salons are a chance for us to hear and speak with fascinating women leaders from diverse backgrounds. We’ve grown enough to seek a larger venue in the area so all can comfortably see and hear.”
Dragon Farm was founded in 1991 with a focus on women’s leadership and working across differences to build community. Dragon Farm also acts as a fiscal agent for startup, qualified projects or programs that may want to eventually become nonprofit organizations.
