Grange, Masonic memorabilia to be presented in Waldoboro

The Waldoborough Historical Society meets Monday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Meenagha Grange assembly room on Main Street.

Waldoboro — The public is invited to attend the final program of the 2014 season of the Waldoborough Historical Society to be held Monday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Meenagha Grange assembly room on Main Street.

Entitled “Grange, Masons and the Museum: Sharing History,” the evening will feature a display of Grange and Masonic memorabilia presently housed in the museum, sketches of the history of all three groups, and music by Ron Dolloff and Paul Smeltzer.

During the evening, the presentation of the 2014 Spirit of America Award will be made to Waldoboro Fire Chief Paul Smeltzer. This annual award is sponsored by the Grange and recognizes a citizen of the town who has given exceptional service to the community. The drawing for the Society’s Waldoboro Braided Rug, created by Emily Winchenbach, will take place following a celebratory cake and light refreshments collation. The program is open to the public; no admission.
