Gomes: two times the blues
Rockland — The Monday Night Blues series will stretch as it occasionally does to includes Tuesday in order to accommodate the local Anthony Gomes fans. The Toronto-born singer/guitarist will perform Monday and Tuesday, April 24 and 25, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Admission will be $15 at the door.
Gomes is an ax-wielding, soulful blues-writing powerhouse, born to a mother from Quebec City and a Portuguese father. A No. 1 Billboard Blues Artist, Gomes — who earned a master’s degree with a thesis was titled “The Racial Evolution of Blues Music” — is giving away his latest album as a digital download; to get 12 songs from throughout his career, visit freegomesalbum.com.
