Gomes back for Sunday Night Blues
Rockland — Toronto-born singer/guitarist Anthony Gomes has become a Midcoast favorite and will play a special Sunday night show April 27 starting 6 p.m. in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St.
The ax-wielding, soulful blues-writing powerhouse has filled the dance floor for a number of special-night shows, as well the occasional Monday Night Blues date and, in 2012, the North Atlantic Blues Festival. His mother is from Quebec City and his father is Portuguese, but he has embraced this most American of musical forms. His latest album, “… Before The Beginning,” offers a powerful collection of unplugged compositions.
Admission will be $15 at the door. The following night, Harper will play the regular Monday Night Blues show at 7 p.m. For more information, visit northatlanticbluesfestival.com and click on the Time Out Blues link.
