Given the security concerns in Russia, what are your thoughts on the Olympics?

The Courier-Gazette staff asked "Given the security concerns in Russia, what are your thoughts on the Olympics?"

"Even though Putin is saying they'll be safe ... you never know. I don't think I would go." — Ardell Robarts, Owls Head.
"If we don't support the Olympians and cave in, the terrorists have accomplished what they wanted." — Paul Dorr, Rockland.
"I am very afraid about it." — Marie Schumann, Tenants Harbor.
"When your time is up, it doesn't matter where you are." — Judy Tibbetts, Rockland.

Bad things can happen anywhere, anytime. GO USA, we should just enjoy what time we have and not cave.

Putin is no friend of the United States and I question why on earth did the Olympic Committee vote to allow the Olympics to be held in Russia.  I pray that our athletes will be safe while in Russia.
