Geometric Paintings in the ArtLab

Rockport — February’s ArtLab for All Ages Workshop will take place Saturday, Feb. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, 162 Russell Ave. Admission is free and all are welcome; materials will be provided.

The workshop, titled Geometric Paintings, will explore the essentials of line, shape and color. Participants will receive a canvas board with a geometric “prompt” to paint in the style of their choice. Instructor Marcie Jan Bronstein of Belfast is an artist, designer and teacher with a special interest in collaborating with children. She is known for her hand-colored images and work with the photographic negative, and her art is exhibited and collected internationally.
