Gardening, landscaping for birds
Waldoboro — Regional School Unit 40 Adult Education is offering Gardening & Landscaping for the Birds Wednesday, April 9 at Medomak Valley High School with Master Gardener Sharon Turner.
Birds need to eat insects to feed their young; insects eat plants — largely very specific plants. When non-native plants replace natives in the landscape, people ignore and interrupt the eons of evolution that have allowed the critical relationships that support native insects, plants and, consequently, birds to survive. Learn what plants to place in a landscape and which attract what birds.
Class meets from 6 to 8 p.m. at Medomak Valley High School.
