Gala & Auction To Honor Maine Maritime AcademyJuly 28 At Point Lookout
Maine Maritime Academy will be honored for its role as the state's foremost educator of maritime professionals at Penobscot Marine Museum's Gala & Auction, July 28 at Point Lookout Resort & Conference Center in Northport. The event will feature live music, fine dining, and live and silent auctions. Anyone wishing to participate in the auction is invited to review the items at www.biddingforgood.com.
"Maine Maritime Academy plays an invaluable role educating ships' officers and other maritime professionals," said Polly Saltonstall, vice president of the board of trustees at Penobscot Marine Museum and chair of its Gala & Auction Planning Committee. "While Penobscot Marine Museum strives to preserve Maine's glorious maritime past, we are pleased to recognize Maine Maritime Academy for its work keeping the maritime industry thriving in the present day and into the future." She added that Maine Maritime Academy’s president, Dr. William J. Brennan, and the chair of its board of trustees, Captain Robert J. Peacock II, will attend the Gala and are looking forward to meeting Penobscot Marine Museum's dedicated supporters.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., July 28, at Point Lookout Resort and Conference Center, Northport, Maine. Bangor Savings Bank and Hamilton Marine are the event's primary sponsors, and auction services will be provided through the courtesy of Kaja Veilleux of Thomaston Place Auction Galleries.
