Friendship — The 31st annual Friendship Day is Saturday, July 26. The event, held rain or shine, benefits the ambulance service for Friendship residents. The following the schedule of events:

Saturday, July 26

6:30 a.m. — 21st annual road race registration. Advent Christian Church parking lot. Awards presentation at Friendship Village School parking lot after Long Haul, for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Contact John Homon at 354-0409. Sponsored by Jaret & Cohn.

7 a.m. — Short Haul. Family Fun Run and Walk for kids up to eight grade and their parents. One mile. Entry fee: $2 donation.

7 to 10 a.m. — 12th annual Friendship Pancake Breakfast. Advent Christian Church. Pancakes, plain and Beth’s Farm Fresh blueberry; maple syrup, sausages, juice and coffee.

7:45 a.m. — Long Haul 5K (3.1 mile) Foot Race/Walk. Open to all ages (three classes). Entry fee donation day of race: $10 without T-shirt and $22 with T-shirt.

8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Craft Sale. Fire Station and in front of Hahn Center. Demonstrations through the day of basket weaving and rug hooking!

8:30 a.m. — Food/Bake Sale. Under the Big Tent. All food donations welcome by 8 a.m. For more information, contact Pam Kahora at 832-5888. Homemade pies, fudge and delicious desserts available- Coffee and doughnuts in the morning.

9 to 11 a.m. — The Lobster Conservancy Marine Touch Tank. Near corner of Main Street and Route 220. Come experience sea life and Diane Cowan will be able to answer questions about lobsters and their life cycles.

10 a.m. — Town Parade. Golden Days of Summer, Golden Age and Golden Anniversaries. Looking back at Friendship 50 years. Grand Marshal’s this year are couples in Friendship celebrating their “Golden” or 50th wedding anniversary. Congratulations to Kendall Sr. and Roberta Delano, Gordon Sr. and Barbara Simmons, and Steven and Betsy White.

10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Children's games/activities beside the Hahn Community Center. Jump tent, bubble pool fun, sidewalk chalk, Kim’s face painting, stickers, lots of games and prizes. For the little ones…bubble pool fun and sidewalk chalk with adult supervision required.

11 a.m. — Midcoast Community Band. Outside Hahn Community Center.

Friendship Fire Department. Enjoy a Friendship lobster roll, hamburgers and fries.

Bob’s Big Dawgs serving his famous 1 pound dawgs will be available, Mike Mayo will be serving blooming onions, hamburgers, along with Victory Ice Cream.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Maine-ly Balloons. Pick-up a free balloon animal from one of the Maine’s top balloon twisters, sponsored by Friendship Trap Co.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. — St. George Carriage Co. offers complimentary carriage rides around town. Sponsored by Lash Realty.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Steve Burn’s train display at Friendship Methodist Church. Come in and enjoy a cool area to see Steve’s ongoing train display. Bring lunch to enjoy in the century old Methodist church.

Noon to 3 p.m. — Enjoy the musical selection from DJ John Genthner.

1 p.m. —  Mr. Magic will perform his award-winning magic act with live animals. Dennis Labbe has been performing in Maine for years to rave reviews. This is a great act for children and adults. In the children’s area

1:30 p.m. — Auction. Hahn Community Center. Friendship’s famous auctioneer Bill Michaud will sell furniture, antiques, row boat, paintings, wood crafts and many donated items.

1 to 4 p.m. — Check out new displays at Friendship Museum, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Corner of Martin's Point Road and Route 220.

2 p.m. — Whiffle Ball for 4 to 10 year olds. Friendshp Ball Field.

3 p.m. — Nelson Preserve Dedication. A new sign will be dedicated thanks to the Audubon Society. Located on Cushing Road, 1 mile out of Friendship on the left side of the road.

4:30 p.m. — Chicken BBQ dinner. Special BBQ done by George Field, Warren. Hosted by the FISH committee. This is the group's only fundraiser held annually and exclusively benefits the Friendship is Here Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded annually to graduating Seniors of Friendship who are going on to higher education. Donations are welcome to support the scholarship fund payable to Friendship Is Here.

6 p.m. — Friendship Ball Field Dedication Ceremony; Friendship ball field has been under construction for many years.

6:10 p.m. — Softball game; Friendship Fire vs. Cushing Fire. Friendship Ball Field

9 p.m. — Fireworks out over the Friendship Harbor. Rain or fog date, Sunday, July 27.
