Rockport — Freeman L. Hawes, 90, husband of Shirley Ryan Hawes of Rockport, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at the Maine VA Medical Center at Togus.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeview Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 188 Rockland St., Rockport with Pastor Stephen Tracy officiating. Freeman and my Dad were great friends. They grew up in Rockport together and entered the service together. He was always smiling, talking about Dad and the fun they had growing up. He will always be remembered by our family.
