Free St. Paddy’s Day concert for children
Rockland — On Sunday, March 17, the Coastal Children’s Museum will offer a free musical storytelling concert for children of all ages from noon to 12:45 p.m. Belfast artist Jennifer Armstrong will perform a “Leprechauns and Limericks” program, which uses Irish fiddle, stories of the wee folk, poetry, shamrocks and limericks to celebrate the Irish in us all.
After the concert, the upstairs Sail, Power and Steam Museum’s weekly Sunday Jam from 1 to 4 p.m. will honor the festive holiday, and all musicians are welcome to take part. The Coastal Children's Museum will open as usual at 1 p.m.
Armstrong is a musical storyteller who shares songs, stories and poetry with audiences across the country. Her programs, recordings, and books encourage and inspire the creative artist inside each of us. More information can be found at her website, jenniferarmstrong.com.
Located at 75 Mechanic St., the Coastal Children’s Museum is dedicated to providing children age 2 to 9 an opportunity to explore, discover and learn through play about the natural world, the arts and sciences and the diversity of Maine’s coast. CCM is open all year Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Information on other upcoming events and memberships available can be found at coastalchildrensmuseum.org or on the museum’s Facebook page
