Free marionette performance of Pinocchio this Saturday. Don't miss it!

Looking for a great way to spend some quality time with your family on a Saturday afternoon? On Saturday, April 28, at 2 p.m., the National Marionette Theatre will be presenting Pinocchio at Belfast Area High School.

The National Marionette Theatre is one of the oldest continually-running marionette theaters in the United States. This award-winning family company has been amazing audiences around the world for more than 40 years.

The National Marionette Theatre is owned and operated by the Syrotiak family of Brattleboro, Vermont. Each year they travel some 45,000 miles across the United States performing for many different venues from elementary schools and theaters to libraries, summer camps and outdoor fairs and festivals.

Their production of Pinocchio is a classic example of storytelling at its best. The adaptation of Carlo Collodi’s epic about a puppet who wants to become a real boy is a faithful re-telling of the childhood favorite. Attendees will follow Pinocchio as he goes on a series of adventures and discovers that only by being truthful, selfless and kind to others will he realize his dream of becoming a real live boy.

The performance is recommended for family audiences, ages four and up.

The free presentation is sponsored by Waldo County General Hospital. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
