Francis J. Johnson
Tenants Harbor — Francis "Frank" J. Johnson died from natural causes on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012.
Frank was a widely published writer of prose and poetry. He was born in Chicago in 1949 and moved to Tenants Harbor in 1978. He was a member of the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Organization for Women, the National Coalition against Censorship and the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance.
Described by his friends as a "gentle soul with deep feelings and sensitivity," he is survived by three sisters and a brother: Dianne Fellinger of McHenry, Ill.; Michelle Johnson, of Anchorage, Alaska; Valerie Landon, (Newark, Del.) and Dennis Johnson of Chicago. Loved by his family, friends and six nephews, Frank made many positive contributions to all with whom he came in contact. He surely will be missed.
