Frances D. Lippincott
Wichita, Kan. — Frances Dearborn Lippincott, 89, passed away peacefully Dec. 8, 2012 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kan.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at Cochran Mortuary. Interment will be at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery, Camden, Maine.
She was born Oct. 1, 1923 in Camden to Stanton Howard and Jennie Edna Dearborn. She was a civilian member of the Ground Observation Corps, a World War II Civil Defense program of the United States Army Air Force. It was during this time she met and married on April 28, 1943, the late Albert Lee Lippincott, United States Coast Guard. Near the end of the war, she moved to Wichita, Kan. with her husband and raised a large family.
Frances was a scout leader and a charter member of the St Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. She is preceded in death by husband Albert, sons Kevin Lee and Kim Lee Lippincott, sister Hazel Marston, brothers Edward and Howard Dearborn and grandson Jonathan Michael Lippincott. She is survived by sons James Dearborn, Henry (MaryAnn) Herbert, Dean (Renee) Hull and Jonathan Thomas Lippincott; daughters Nancy (Bert) Helen Smith, Janan (Roger) Rebecca Smith, Kathy (Mark) Lynn Nixon, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
