Four vehicles stolen in overnight spree
Rockport — Rockport Police are seeking the public's assistance after four vehicles were stolen during the early morning hours of Aug. 15. Police have suspects in the case.
Rockland Deputy Chief Wally Tower said a 2004 Chevrolet pick-up truck, owned by Tradewinds Motor Inn, was reported stolen at about 2 a.m. It had the keys in it, he said.
The truck was later found in Union, where another vehicle was then stolen. The vehicle taken in Union was later recovered in Jefferson by Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, according to Rockport Patrol Officer Craig Cooley.
A third pick-up truck was then stolen from a Somerville residence and was involved in a crash on South Street in Rockport, where it was found on its side, Cooley said.
A fourth vehicle, a 2006 blue Ford F-250 with Maine license plate 6070SD, was then stolen from a South Street home, police said.
All four thefts are related and police have suspects, he said.
Police are asking anyone with information or who may have seen the blue Ford truck to contact Rockport Police Department at 236-2026.
