Four seek City Council seats
Rockland — Anne Haggar is the latest to take out nomination papers for a seat on the City Council.
Two seats are up for election in November. So far Hal Perry, Louise MacLellan-Ruf and incumbent Councilor Larry Pritchett have taken out papers. Perry has collected the necessary signatures and filed his papers with the city clerk's office and will officially appear on the ballot.
Those interested in running for city positions can take out nomination papers at City Hall and have to return them with signatures by Monday, Sept. 23. Council candidates must have 100 to 125 signatures. The election will be Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Two school board seats are also up for election and they are held by William Pearce and Donald Robishaw. Both have taken out nomination papers and Robishaw has returned them.
