Windjammer Alex, Vikings Bean, Warren, Mustang Milani honoredHampden — With eight state champions crowned over the weekend in high school boys and girls soccer, many talented seniors throughout the state — four of whom reside on the Midcoast — have one more game to play.
Four student-athletes representing Knox and Waldo counties will participate in the 18th annual Maine Soccer Coaches' Association Senior Bowl, set for Sunday, Nov. 11 on the artificial turf at Hampden Academy. The girls game kicks off at noon and the boys contest at 2:30 p.m.
Games are a combination of Eastern and Western players from Classes A, B, C and D and the players are divided into two teams. The games are two 60-minutes halves, as opposed to the traditional 40-minute halves, in an effort to give all players ample playing time.
The following are the Midcoast student-athletes who have been offered the opportunity to participate in the Senior Bowl:
Eastern Class B girls — Camden Hills' Kristina Alex.
Western Class D girls — Vinalhaven's Ryann Warren.
Eastern Class B boys — Mount View's Lorenzo Milani.
Eastern Class C boys — Searsport's Austin Bean.
