First-inning surge pays off as Warren upends DiamondbacksWarren secures league crown with solid all-around performance
Warren — The Medomak Valley Little League softball championship was decided on Saturday, June 14 as Warren hosted the Diamondbacks as the league title hung in the balance.
In the end, it was a four-run first inning by Warren that helped it pull away, earn an 8-3 win and, ultimately, the league crown.

Warren added two runs in the second and one in the third and fourth frames, while the Diamondbacks scored two in the first and one in the sixth.
Warren was the top seed in the tournament, while the Diamondbacks were second and the Fillies third.
Previous playoff results included the Diamondbacks over the Fillies 11-4, Warren over the Diamondbacks 18-4 and the Diamondbacks over the Fillies 22-19.

Nash (single, run), Cohen (single, run), Schaeffer (single), Donlin (run), Poland (run) and Boughman (run) paced Warren at the plate, while Addie Jameson (single, 2 runs), Morse (single), Powell (single) and White (run) led the Diamondbacks.
Schaeffer pitched for Warren, allowing three hits and six walks, with 10 strikeouts. Powell pitched for the Diamondbacks, allowing three hits and eight walks, with eight strikeouts.
