Rockland — Art Space Gallery invites the public to its First Friday opening reception June 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. Elizabeth Root Blackmer, Janalee Welch and Charlene “Sea” Vanderslice will showcase their work in the front room of the Main Street gallery for the entire month of June.

Blackmer explores patterns in nature with her macro photographs. In this collection of work, she presents vibrant abstracts printed on brushed aluminum using the dye sublimation process.

Welch is a multi-media artist; however, her passion is pastels. Her newest collections of work in this show are abstract compositions with rich color and geometric forms.

Charlene "Sea" Vanderslice has loved the ocean and its endangered creatures since traveling twice around the world on water in her 20s. Thirty percent of her profits go to the Marine Environmental Research Institute in Blue Hill.

Art Space Gallery located at 342 Main St., across from the Strand Theatre, and features works by 19 artists of various media and genres. Many will be in attendance to share stories about their work.
