First Friday in Rockland
Rockland — Arts In Rockland’s season of art walks gets underway in earnest with the First Friday Art Walk June 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. Some 21 galleries, artists studios and other arts-related venues will keep their doors open into the evening, many with receptions and show openings.
Participating venues can be spotted via the AIR banners flying out front. They begin just south of the ferry landing and extend into the South End’s Maine Coastal Islands Gallery at the beginning of Water Street. Main Street is filled with options, as is Elm Street, and Winding Way Watercolors is just around the Oak Street corner. The Farnsworth Art Museum is open free of charge First Fridays through October; and the AIR season will run through the end of the year.
