St. George — Join chef Mark Stevens and hostess Linda Tripp Friday, Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m. for an evening of wood-fired delicacies in their home on the Georges River in Tenants Harbor.

Tickets to the event benefit the Georges River Land Trust and are $70 for Land Trust members and $80 for non-members. They may be purchased in advance either on line at georgesriver.org/revelry/ or by calling 594-5166.

Participants will be amazed and delighted at the variety of tastes that are possible using a wood-burning oven. The home chef can bake delicious pizza and bread, roast meat and vegetables, grill fish and lobster, and create delectable desserts. The floor and dome of a wood-burning oven give out reflective heat from all sides, above and below, creating a wonderful convection that bakes everything to perfection, while the fire brings out a unique crisp, bubbly texture and smoky taste.

Watch the sun setting over the river, wine in hand, and assemble on the porch for a unique meal and great company. Tickets are limited to 16 participants.

This event is part of the Revelry for the River, a celebration of local conservation and one of 16 Revelry for the River events this year. These activities highlight why it is so wonderful to live in and visit Midcoast Maine.
