Fields of bluesy rock and soul
Rockland — The Monday Night Blues series continues with the Dave Fields Band Monday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Admission is $10.
The New York-based Dave Fields is an electrifying rocker with a blues soul, a genre-busting guitarist whose performances are always intensely passionate. He has performed with the likes of Hubert Sumlin, U2, Aretha Franklin; and won Best Self-Produced CD 2006 at the International Blues Competition for “Back in Bluesville.” His “Time’s A Wastin’” and “All Wound Up” CDs have been an international success in France, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Holland, Russia and Australia. Legendary bluesman John Mayall recorded Fields’ song “Train To My Heart” on his most recent CD. Fields’ own latest CD, “Detonation,” was produced by the legendary producer David Z.
Next up in the weekly series are: the F&G Band featuring Sandra Taylor, back from the recent Blues Ball, Nov. 12 ($10); String Bean & The Stalkers, Nov. 19 ($10); Belfast-based The Juke Rockets, raising funds for their Road to Memphis trip, Nov. 26 ($10); and the annual Blues Year’s Eve Party with Eddie Shaw and the Wolf Gang, Dec. 3 ($15), which will wrap up the series for 2012.
