Fiber Artists Among Exceptional Exhibitors at ArtFull Gifts Show, Nov. 22-24
The fifth annual ArtFull Gifts Show, to be held at Point Lookout, Route 1 in Northport, on the weekend of November 22-24, will feature 50 exhibitors offering fine art, craft, and gourmet foods. Among the artisans will be Emi Ito of Bath, who hand-weaves scarves, neckwarmers, and shawls; Sister Bette Edl of Stockton Springs, who weaves jackets, vests, shawls, scarves, purses and more on her loom and also creates wool rugs and other beautiful pieces; Carla McGuire of Hallowell, who adorns her kitted scarves with whimsical knitted decorations, many of them referencing food, drink, and Maine icons; and Sidney Caruso of Albion, who creates altered-fiber scarves, many of them decorated with beading.
Other exceptional locally created gifts will include jewelry; porcelain and stoneware pottery; fine home furnishings; stone, clay, and metal sculpture; leather bags; wooden bowls, paintings, and home-grown gourmet foods. There will also be demonstrations of weaving, hat making, porcupine-quill art, using dulse in bath and beauty products, making Japanese thread balls, and spinning fleece into yarn.
Admission ($10 for a Friday-evening gala reception; $3 on Saturday and Sunday) benefits Coastal Mountains Land Trust.
