What do you do when a black cat crosses your path on Friday the 13th? Adopt it, of course! On Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14 all adult blacks cats or black and white cats will be fee waived. Cats like Bailey. She's a real beauty with silky jet black fur and a mischievous twinkle in her eye and a personality to match. Being picked up isn't really one of her favorite things but she loves to play and be right in the thick of things. Bailey is a "mitten kitty," also known as polydactyl, as she has extra toes on her front paws. Make Friday the 13th (and Saturday the 14th) your lucky day and change their luck too by adopting a cat.

We have plenty of dogs too like Piper a young black lab mix. Piper came in as a stray so we don't know her history. We estimate her age to be between 1 and 2 years of age. She definitely has the energy of a youngster which is complimented by her super sweet personality. She is fine around dogs. If you're looking for an active, loyal companion, Piper just may be your match.

Don't forget to Eat for Pete's Sake Thursday, June 12 for our Seventh Annual Eat for Pete’s Sake fundraising event. Eat at one of these wonderful local restaurants and they will donate a portion of their profits to help support homeless animals in our community: Badger Cafe & Pub, Blue Sky Cantina, Come Spring Cafe, Common House of Pizza, Craignair Inn and Restaurant, Harbor Gawker, Hatchet Mountain Publick House, Home Kitchen Cafe, In Good Company, Offshore Restaurant, Park Street Grille, and Water Dog Tavern. Eat for Pete's sake and for all the other animals at the shelter so they know where their next meal is coming from. Tell the restaurant you're there to eat for Pete. Thanks for your support.

We'd like to thank the Emblem Club of Rockland for inviting PMHSKC Executive Director Tracy Sala to speak at their state convention, for the generous donations of much needed items from our wish list and a check for $115. We really appreciate the support. Thank You Emblem Club!
