Farnsworth offers vacation art camp
Rockland — Children age 5 to 8 are invited to join art instructor Trelawney O’Brien and other creative kids this winter school break for an Art Camp at the Farnsworth’s Gamble Education Center. The weeklong camp will run Monday through Friday, Feb. 17 through 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at the center, corner of Union and Grace streets.
Some of the activities will include making colorful paper bowls, looking at maps and creating one’s own with different materials, building snow sculptures outside, making winter masks out of plaster and paint and making tie dye T-shirts.
Studio Assistant O’Brien is a fine artist and art educator who teaches the winter, spring and summer art camps for children, various adult art workshops and helps run programs for children and families at the Farnsworth. She also teaches through the RASA afterschool program at the Rockland Middle School.
