Farmers’ ‘Favorite Things’ sought

Dec 25, 2013

Belfast — This winter, the Maine Farmland Trust Gallery plans to cover its walls from top to bottom with pictures of "Favorite Things" from Maine farms — a much-loved farm animal, a baby calf, a favorite tool or most-worn pair of overalls, a cherished view, a yummiest value-added product, the best pie from the farm kitchen, families — whatever makes the heart sing.

This being the time of family celebrations and giving thanks, MFT would like to celebrate along with Maine farmers and pay homage to Maine's farm families. To participate, send between 1 and 20 pictures, color or black and white, before Wednesday, Jan. 15, in one of the following ways.

Digital submissions may be made via email to, preferably in higher resolution; MFT will print them out and use them only for the show. Email also must include submitter’s name, the name of the farm and the subject or title of each picture.

Manually, framed or unframed pictures may be dropped off at MFT, 97 Main St; ask for Kim and give them to her. Included must be a note with name, the name of the farm and the subject or title of each picture, as well as contact information to arrange pick-up after the show ends.

"These are a few of my Favorite Things" will be up during February and March, possibly April, in the MFT art gallery. Any questions can be directed to Gallery Coordinator Anna Abaldo at
