Owls Head — The Gilford Butler and Owls Head Central School Parents Group sponsored a free family fun fair March 1.

The event, held at Owls Head Central School, celebrated the work the students had done during their week-long "Wizard of Oz" curriculum from The Farnsworth Museum.

Local businesses donated Oz-themed items that were included in a raffle basket. Chairman of the Parents Group, Nikki Castellano, noted donations from The Farnsworth Museum, Planet Toys, Candy Harbor, Grasshopper Shop, and Dunkin' Donuts.

Participants enjoyed crafts, face-painting, a bounce house, a balloon artist and more — run by the Oceanside High School Key Club.

"The Wizard of Oz" movie was played and popcorn was served.

A bake sale and raffle basket raised $100 for the Parents Group to help support the schools.
