Rockland — On Saturday, June 21 the Coastal Children’s Museum celebrate the start of summer with its annual Family Fun Day.

Visitors will get a special admission rate of $5 per family and will be treated to fantastic events throughout the whole day.

There will be special messy art activities outside as well as face painting, balloon games and bubbles as well as visits from community organizations. Brett Willard from Merry Spring Nature Center will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon with a fun table all about pollinators and their importance.

Families will also be able to take a StoryWalk provided by Let’s Go! of Maine. Pages of a book have been transformed into signs that are then laid out on a trail inviting families to follow and move with the story. A walk will be set up with “Down to the Sea with Mr. Magee,” by Chris Van Dusen which includes extra illustrations created by Van Dusen just for this StoryWalk that demonstrate to children how they can move like the characters in his book.
