Face time in the ArtLab
Rockport — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art, 162 Russell Ave., will offer a free ArtLab for all ages Saturday, Oct. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. This month's project will be creating expressive sculptural faces — human or animal — from wood scrap and turned wood pieces, working alone or with family and friends.
The workshop is open to all and all materials will be provided. Instructor for the workshop is Marcie Jan Bronstein, an artist, designer and teacher with a special interest in collaborating with children. She is known for her hand-colored images and work with the photographic negative; her art is exhibited and collected internationally. She also is the author of “Fotoplay!”, a prompt book for children.
ArtLab is made possible in part thanks to generous support from Camden National Bank; the Milton and Sally Avery Art Foundation; and individual donors.
